Based around Cinal's Story elements (Fire Water Air Earth Mind Body Soul Dark Light Space) the combat will rely heavily on magic and strength balance. A variety of enemies will be resistant to magic and a lot resistant to basic attacks, hence a battle mage character as main. I need ideas for other classes and characters but mainly I'm fine right now.

Enemies will appear complex on the surface due to erratic behaviour but overall simple once fought enough. Informative strike will contain basic information as well as a light strategy but commonly the strategy should only be average (not truly effective but a decent strategy.)

Common miniboss type enemies with decent loot, perhaps unique items based on a combination of items obtained from them. Huge flower + Cracked shield + Torrash sap = Flower shield.

Sara Firebloome (CONFIRMED, needs revision)

Heavy damage dealing hero, weapons have huge damage output and hero has high agility to strike consistently. High damage output balanced by low defense and armours offering high bonuses at the cost of agility, perhaps two types of armour to allow players choosing her path.

"Blunt Greatsword", only greatsword offering blunt damage type. Huge damage base but -agi.

Horrace Jawles

Berserker class, slow and easy to hit but has high natural armour. All available armours take some agility but more than make up for it. By the end of the game Horrace should be able to take only a quarter of damage other characters suffer.

Uses mace and shield. Shield also adds additional defense but has to be removed for late game greatmaces. Greatmaces offer more damage than any other in game weapon, Horrace of course has a very low base damage.

Josan Kreive

An Anti-Paladin, able to use dark magic but due to deep fusing with darkness light is horrifyingly effective. Mixture between good armour and attack with the highest base health points in the game. Takes less damage from most elemental attacks.

Weapon would likely be thicker swords (broadswords and the like) and possibly allowing a shield or not. Perhaps weapons offering more damage need two hands?

Jess Hare (CONFIRMED)

Dual weapon user, uses duel daggers that come imbued with different elements or poison. The addition of having two weapons leaves status effect using weapons and elemental weapons as a good option but allowing high damaging daggers.

High agility but low hp and defense. Status inflicting spells avaliable but due to lack of knowledge in magic can be easily silenced. Back line fighter, quick to use items and such but lacks offensive and defensive abilities will rely on status effects and abusing element weakness. Player favorite?

Later in game non-element weapons available (weapons without any actual class, allowing nullification of enemies immune to a large number of elements, like only open to space element damage).

Clash Venison

Gladiator class with low defence but shields offer high evasion ability. Reliance on luck rather than stats. Whip weapon, deals varying damage and lower chance to actually strike but is capable of doing epic damage.

Kamikaze ability? Dealing extreme damage at the cost of one's own life? Possibly a great ability.

Sprizzlepockets

Mad designer, low hp defence attack and spirit but capable of dealing huge damage with item abilities using reagents in inventory. (Thunder root + Boosting gel = Thunder Storm? Like Rikku from FFX?) would also have high agility.

Morphas Cloge

Morphing character. Has abilities allowing status effects like "Wolf" or "Hawk" for additional damage agility spirit or anything. Animal attack types, can inflict poison?

Extreme Pain

Fallen demigod, superb agility and mid range attack but low hp and defense. Pure offensive fighter with no real defense. Abilities all target self and buff. Doesn't use weapons until the very end of the game where he can obtain demigod claws that deal no additional damage but inflict space type.

Doc Bruesten

Healer class, doesn't use magic and therefore cannot be silenced. Administers regen buffs(?) and heals party members. Final level unlocks "Full Rejuvination"(?) an ability that heals the party for full hp and mp at no cost.

Lorthe

Dancer type class, modified. Singer, has a variety of buffing abilities both negative and positive. No offensive power but has a decent reserve of HP.
Not really sure about this one.

Additional ideas would be awesome.

Draco Stout

Stoic dwarf hero, capable of soaking up huge deals of damage. Has ability "defend" that splits his agility in half but quadruples his defence. Naturally slow hero with a wildly random attack damage. Uses dual bucklers as weapons and defense, possible multiple types of buckler? Spiked for attack and outcurved for defence? based on player pref?

Armour would hinder agility somewhat but focus on defence. Should be an excellent tank but may require work. High hp mandatory. Self aiding abilities like a self heal and the earlier mentioned defence should allow Draco to be a self sustained hero and aid the party by not... being... dead?

Final party is:

Stoic, a hero to take the damage. Has a recovery ability for tanking.

Jesse, Changed form, now an Animalist class. Skills based on forest (Salve for instance) but retains original speed and weapons. Talks funny, probablyu a comic relief.

Sarra, a powerful female warrior. Abilities such as brutal strike (more random damage) or determined blow (less chance to hit more damage on) and the like will make an interesting hero.

(Forgot his name D'OH!!) sword mage hero, adept at either infusing his melee weapon with an element or fighting with spells from afar, making him very versatile. Final ability will be Space Line.

Ability Ideas Not Implimented

Space Line. The character draws a line over the enemy, the line splits with the power of space disintegrating the area and dealing primo damage. Huge damage possible and inflicts status effect "Dismembered" that reduces offensive capability and makes the enemy unable to block or evade.

Pierce. A powerful blow (sarra) that ignores armor entirely but deals slightly less damage than a normal attack. Awesome against high resist enemies.

Brain crush. Deals minor damage and inflicts "headache", an effect that reduces magic by 20% (really useful later).

KADOOMSH. Boss ability? Deals heavy damage to the party and if they survive they come out with poison, blind, silent, and sleep. Should be hard to come back from. My homage to the great malboro. Those bastards.

Crush. Another boss? ability. Reduces all characters to a single hit points (devestating on larger hp characters like stoic).

Game Over. A mighty boss ability that deals 9998 damage to the entire party. Only Sarra is capable of withstanding this and only at lvl 99. Should be "interesting" for the players if they don't expect it.

Reset. Boss ability, heals all mana and hp.

Oncoming Doom. Target recieves "doomed" effect, slowly saps away their hp and WILL kill them. More effective than poison and cannot be dispelled by anything less than a save location or an ultra rare item. Won't go away on KO.
