Council Of Chaos, The Story Empty
PostSubject: Council Of Chaos, The Story   Council Of Chaos, The Story Icon_minitimeThu Dec 23, 2010 2:54 am

The king and his people gathered around the table, each a lord of a substantial land mass. All together they owned the known world's land, except of course for the council territory. They were here to discuss a term of complete peace in their lands, a way to ensure the Allies movement was sustained for decades to come. But, alas, there is always someone against peace.

Each man had a guard. The king had chosen Roland, his captain of the guard as well as second general. As a sign of trust the king also had his daughter on his knee, but Roland had been given very special instructions in the case of a rebel. The meeting went as planned, and as the clock struck nine o'clock the meeting ended with a full agreement and the true chaos began.

The Council soldiers burst through into the hall, and all of the bodyguards but Roland moved in to kill them. Roland's actions saved the king, as several of the Allies soldiers burst into an attack on the king. Roland's broadsword came free of it's sheathe and quickly struck down the first traitor. The battle was quick, and soon the bodyguards were down and the various representatives had been captured, except for the king due to Roland. They were now pressed back into the wall, Roland fighting off those ahead as the king protected his daughter as if his life meant nothing.

The odds were against them, and before Roland could object the king pulled him back and put the princess into his arms "Take care of her," before ripping a sabre from the wall and fighting back the soldiers. Roland did not object, knowing the king's iron will would never allow him to, and Roland crashed into the stairwell with momentum.

With the child cradled in his right arm and his left arm readied with his sword he leaped down the staircase four at a time, coming with enough power to smash the door off of it's hinges and into a number of Council soldiers. The Allies soldiers fighting off the Council soldiers saw Roland and the Princess and sprinted over to aid him. With the numbers evened Roland was able to fend off the Council soldiers, but he never noticed the crossbows trained on him.

The volley of arrows decimated the Allies soldiers and sent those not dead fleeing. Roland stared defiantly into the line, and they reloaded. He knew he wasn't able to move fast enough, so he did all he could think and turned to shield the princess. Seven bolts slammed into his back, digging inches in with only the light leather armour to stop them. Roland roared in pain and hauled up the princess, to charge across to the stables while the bowmen reloaded.

Roland swung the princess onto the bare back of the horse and threw a blanket over her. With a slap in the rear end the horse charged out of the gate, seemingly running free from the chaos with a blanket still on it's back. Roland slashed his belt off to reduce his weight and climbed onto a war horse, unbuckling it's barding. He would need the speed.

Roland's horse slammed into a Council soldier with enough force to dent armour and then out of the gate. Bolts rained upon them, but the trained war horse never strayed from it's path and without it's heavy barding it was reaching speeds it had never seen before. Roland and his horse were brushed by the leaves as they entered the forests beyond.

The horse and the princess hadn't gotten far. Without someone kicking it to move the horse had decided to graze, and it was easy to recover the princess. Roland patted his horse before running off into the forest further.

Council Of Chaos, The Story Empty
PostSubject: Re: Council Of Chaos, The Story   Council Of Chaos, The Story Icon_minitimeSun Feb 06, 2011 10:41 pm

The Council soldiers charged into the forest. Seeing the horses, the mounted soldiers charged off to catch the now slow Roland. Those on foot looked around the area, and above one there was a figure cradled in the branches with his hand over over a young girl's mouth. The mounted soldiers found nothing, and those on foot never expected to. Nineteen soldiers left the forest, not realising that twenty went in.

Roland buckled his newly acquired Council armour tightly, throwing aside the too small pauldrons, boots, and gauntlets. Roland substituted the fixed metal boots with the soft leather boots he had and made makeshift hand wraps from the dead soldier's undershirt. The outfit would fool at far distance, and provide far more protection than the light leather he had before. As a final touch, Roland bundled the girl into what remained of the shirt from the soldier and tied it over his shoulders to the breast plate's fastenings.

The little girl was oblivious to the dangers ahead, as well as the seriousness of killing a man. This was good for Roland, he would more trouble dealing with a hysterical little girl than a timid one. The time he had spent playing with her and letting her watch while he trained had developed a bond, and that would surely be tested in the days ahead.

Roland trekked through the forest, heading for a town on the outskirts called Faulle. The town was small, but not small enough to warrant ignorance. The people had erected a palisade wall and had a large militia. What's more, the two hundred or so inhabitants not in the militia would be capable of fighting by themselves... and they all hated the Council.

Roland walked through one of the gates, heads turned at his armour but his reputation had preceded him. Some saluted, some bowed, others offered a nod of understanding. Word spread fast, it had only been nine hours since the castle had fallen to the Council and already people were aware. Rumours had spread like wildfire, and Roland carrying the princess on his back showed the king could not.

The inn door swung open, revealing Roland and the princess to those inside. Some looked into their drinks, not believing the sight, and others stood as a sign of respect. One woman walked over to Roland as he sat by the bar. 'So you're Roland?' the princess smiled at everyone as Roland sat her down 'Yes, who might you be?' the woman beamed a near perfect smile 'I'm Alodie, I'm a mercenary. Maybe... you could use my help?' Roland didn't get to respond 'I can help you get where you're going and probably tell you where to go if you don't know,' Alodie smiled 'And my price is quite reasonable.' Roland nodded and smiled, 'I could use a mercenary.'

Another walked over to Roland, a tall man in steel armour with a mask over his face. His wild blonde hair spilled over the top, and all you could see of his face were his blue eyes. 'Roland. I will escort you to wherever it is you may go,' Roland looked at his sceptically 'I owe a lot to the king,' Roland wasn't sure what he meant, but he needed the help. 'What's your name?' the man stared a second... 'Virgil.'

The group of four left the next day, their weapons sharp and ready for whatever was ahead. Roland had Alliance broadsword, sheathed between a strap. Alodie had a longbow over her shoulder and three daggers sheathed on her thigh. Virgil carried his heavy claymore in a custom sheathe on his back. Even the little girl was armed, she had small dagger that Alodie had given her earlier.

It wasn't long before they stumbled into trouble. A group of roving bandits, completely unaware of the importance and strength of the group decided they would make an easy target. Over forty moved in.

Alodie picked up on movement in the brush, and then more. It was too much for a small animal and too fast for anything larger, so it was likely someone else. Alodie tapped Roland the shoulder and pointed to the brush, just as a horde of men leapt from it. Roland's sword was up, and in removing it from the strap he slashed across the throat of a bandit. Virgil cleaved another in two, and a perfect shot from Alodie dropped another with an arrow in the eye. The bandits realised they weren't messing with average travellers, and became more careful.

The group fought off the bandits, but one snuck around behind and took the princess. Roland was first to notice the bandit with his sword to her neck. The three stopped, and the bandits moved in. The three were dropped to their knees, Alodie was struck to the head and fell unconscious, and after several strikes Virgil did too. Roland took a wooden club to the back of his head.

Alodie's vision slowly came as she awoke. She had been stripped of her weapons and clothes and bound tightly in chains. Her fingers danced over the lock, and the tiny picks hidden under her nails did their work on the lock behind her back. She looked around more as she worked on the lock, she saw Virgil helplessly attempting to force his way from the chains, he at least got to keep his pants. Roland was just watching her, he also kept his pants. Alodie couldn't see the princess. Alodie bit her lip as she figured out the lock and set to work actually unlocking herself, just then what looked a bandit leader walked in. Alodie moved her hands away from the lock as he inspected the group. 'Well then, are you going to beg for mercy?' Alodie was the one who spoke up 'Bite your bum, you ugly perve--' the bandit leader kicked Alodie heavily in the side, enough to roll her over, before walking out annoyed. Roland smiled at her.

Alodie's hands once again danced over the lock, this time it came free after five seconds. She got up and walked over to Virgil, deciding he would be more useful if she was interrupted. 'I never expected this, you know,' Alodie smiled as the lock clicked 'In fact, I expected to keep my clothes on for at least the first day,' Roland's lock clicked free, too.

Roland rubbed his wrists. 'You guys can do the fighting, right?' Virgil nodded, and the two noticed his face. His face and neck was burnt, the burns went down to his waist. Alodie winced at the thought 'Let's go.'

Virgil's massive fist clubbed into the first bandit that strolled by. Roland, the one most suited to the weapon, took the longsword from the bandit. Roland and Alodie darted into the next tent in the bandit camp. The bandit in this tent was taken by surprise. Before he could make a peep Roland had moved in, stabbed through his heart, and put his over his mouth to quiet his dying breath.

The three split up, Virgil following Roland closely and Alodie taking off on her own. Roland burst into a tent filled with three startled bandits. Virgil began choking one as Roland beheaded another and brought down to his knees in a yield. 'Take off your shirt,' the bandit was confused 'Do it, NOW!' Roland stepped back as the bandit complied.

'Virgil,' the confused bandit hit the ground shortly after Virgil clubbed him with the end of a spear. Roland put on the light brown shirt and wrapped a bandanna around his face. Roland noticed Virgil was wielding the spear much like a halberd, but didn't bother correcting him. Alodie burst in 'I found the princess! She's in the big tent in the middle guarded really well.' She was wearing a full bandit outfit and had gotten a short bow somewhere and three arrows. As the three passed a tent Roland spied a naked hog tied bandit inside and couldn't help but laugh.

A loud fight drew all of the bandits towards it. Virgil was left to hold off more then thirty bandits alone, and Alodie was silently murdering those left behind to watch the boundaries. Roland slashed his way through a tent wall and stared the bandit leader in the eyes. Behind him was the princess, thankfully unharmed.

Roland came in low and slashed upwards, the bandit leader slid back across the dirt floor. Roland remained on the offensive, striking down heavily on the bandit leader's sword. Weaponless and frantic, the bandit leader stumbled back and drew a dagger. Roland smirked and then the bandit leader grabbed the princess roughly. 'Put down your sword! Or she dies!' Roland growled and his sword clattered to the floor. The bandit leader began to laugh hysterically, and then suddenly he stopped and his eyes widened. The bandit leader dropped to his knees and the princess broke free, leaving her dagger deep set inside the bandit's heart. He crashed to the ground and it was clear he was dead. The princess cried into Roland's chest and he pulled her back to look into her eyes 'Brave girl,' Roland ushered her into a crate and closed it 'Wait here, I'll be back, I promise.'

Roland slashed through each tent on his way to Virgil, not wasting time moving around them. Virgil was getting weary and just as Roland arrived he dropped the spear. Roland roared as he leaped through the air and cleaved downwards, beheading one bandit and cutting a huge gash in another's arm.

Virgil retrieved his spear and jammed it through a distracted bandit, who Roland then slashed across the jugular. An arrow slammed into the back of yet another bandit's head, and that was the final straw for the remainder who fled quickly.

Roland took off, Virgil close behind. He burst into the tent where he left the princess and ripped open the crate. She wasn't there. Roland swore and kicked the side of it. 'Hey, don't swear in front of a little girl,' Roland turned, and there was Alodie holding the princess. Roland took her from Alodie and sat down on the ground. 'That was easy,' the four began to laugh.

They set off the forests, to a hideout long established by the kings and kept a secret to all but the highest ranks. That's why Roland knew about it...

The princess grew, she took on the name Rylee and trained each day. Roland was no father, he knew that himself and so he brought his skills into it. Rylee was brought up to be strong, loyal, well spoken, and most importantly to know the codes and formalities of The Order.

She had changed a lot. The once timid and sweet little girl was now muscled and hard faced, she was tanned from years of being in the sun, and her once dark brown hair was sun bleached to a brassy blonde.

Rylee had taken the fighting styles of her mentors, who had decided to stay with her, as her own. She had been trained to perfection in the art of sword and shield fighting, near mastered archery using the long bow, and learned the mysterious Hard Fist fighting style Virgil used. In Roland's eyes she was the perfect warrior, and more so his daughter than simply someone he had to guard.

The small forest cabin had been made the centre of the Order resistance. No one had been wearing the blue steel armour of the Order, and the cabin resembled a hunting lodge far more than resistance hub thanks to it's location... a perfect hideout.
